Ramas Nosadze

Ramas Nosadze ( Georgian რამაზ ნოზაძე ; born October 16, 1983 in Tbilisi ) is a Georgian wrestler . He was world champion in 2007 and European champion in 2003 and 2007 as well as winner of a silver medal at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens in the Greco-Roman style in the light heavyweight division.

Career

Ramas Nosadze, whose date of birth is given on the website of the Georgian Olympic Committee as September 17, 1983, grew up in Tbilisi and began wrestling there as a youth in 1994. The sports student, who is actually a professional wrestler, belongs to the SK Tiflis and is trained by Otar Tateshvili. He wrestles exclusively in the Greco-Roman style.

His first use in an international championship he completed in 1999 at the Junior World Championship in Nykøbing Falster in the middleweight division. He took 3rd place there behind Adem Tacsi from Turkey and Chassan Barojew from Russia , who was to become the 2004 heavyweight Olympic champion.

In 2001, at the age of eighteen, he was used for the first time at a senior European championship. He wrestled in the light heavyweight division and had to pay tribute to his youth and lack of international experience because he lost both of his fights and ended up in 17th place. In 2002 he even started in the heavyweight division at the European Championships in Seinäjoki, Finland, and just missed a medal with 5th place. In the same year he won the light heavyweight title at the European Junior Championships in Subotica in front of the Poles Artur Nikolajczyk, Oleksandr Tschernezkyj from Ukraine and Andreas Fix from Germany .

The year 2003 was a very successful year for the young Ramas Nosadze. First he was European light heavyweight champion in Belgrade and defeated u. a. the Olympic champion and multiple world champion Gogi Koguaschwili from Russia . In the final battle he was point winner over Mirko Englich from Germany. A few weeks later he was in Istanbul Junior World Champion in Istanbul and again a few weeks later, he finished in the Senior World Championships in Creteil / France an excellent third place. He failed in the semifinals to Karam Ibrahim from Egypt . In the fight for third place, however, he defeated Dawid Saldadze from the Ukraine, a great man.

In 2004 Ramas Nosadze only started at the Olympic Games in Athens . In the light heavyweight division he defeated Mirko Englich, Dawid Saldadze, Gogi Koguaschwili and Masoud Haschenzadeh from Iran . In the final battle he lost to Karam Ibrahim and won the silver medal .

After being out for a long time in 2005/2006 due to an injury, he was barely recovered and was able to start again at the 2006 World Cup in Guangzhou / China . There he also defeated such strong opponents as Aslanbek Chuschtow from Russia, Mikhail Nikolajew, ex-world champion Jimmy Lidberg from Sweden and Marek Švec from the Czech Republic . In the quarterfinals he lost to Hamza Yerlikaya from Turkey , one of the best and most successful wrestlers in the world ever, on points.

The year 2007 then turned out to be the most successful year in Ramas Nosadze's career. He first won the light heavyweight title at the European Championships in Sofia , where he u. a. defeated the reigning world champion of 2006 with Heiki Nabi from Estonia and the world champion of 2003 with Jimmy Lidberg. He then also triumphed at the World Cup in Baku , where he won the final battle against the outsider Mindaugas Ezerskis from Lithuania .

Because of these successes, Ramaz Nosadze was voted Sportsman of the Year in Georgia in December 2007.

In 2008 Ramas Nosadze was defeated at the European Championships in Tampere in the semifinals against Aslanbek Chuschtow, but then won a bronze medal with a victory over Kalojan Dinchew from Bulgaria .

For participation in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , he qualified through his placement at the 2007 World Cup in Baku.
