Wang Xu ( Chinese    /  , Pinyin Wáng Xù ; born September 27, 1985 in Beijing ) is a Chinese wrestler .

biography

Wang Xu was Asian champion in 2001 in the class up to 68 kg. At the 2002 World Wrestling Championships in Chalkida , she won the silver medal in the heavyweight division. At the World Championships a year later in New York City , she won bronze in the same class. At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens she competed in the heavyweight division . With her 7-2 victory in the final over the Russian Güsel Manjurowa , she became Olympic champion. At the Asian Games in 2006 she won gold again in the heavyweight division.
