In 2005 it was used again at the World Cup , which took place in Budapest . In the fight for a bronze medal at the World Championships, she was narrowly defeated by Swetlana Sajenko from Ukraine (1: 2 rounds, 4: 5 points) and had to be satisfied with the medalless 5th place.

At the 2006 World Cup in Guangzhou Wang Jiao won over Jaresmit Weffer from Venezuela , but then lost in an even fight against Wassilissa Marsaljuk from Belarus by just a few points (1: 2 rounds, 9: 9 points). She was eliminated and only came in 10th place. In 2007 she became Junior World Champion in Beijing . She defeated Jenny Fransson, Ali Sue Bernard from the United States , Kyoko Hamaguchi and the reigning world champion Stanka Slatewa from Bulgaria , who was unbeaten for two years before Beijing.

In 2009 and 2010, Wang Jiao did not compete in any international championships. She only stood on the mat for the Chinese team at the World Cup in Taiyuan / China, a team competition with individual ratings, and came in second behind the American Stephany Lee .

In 2011 she started at the Asian championship in Tashkent , where she lost after victories over Jana Panowa from Kyrgyzstan and Badrachyn Odontschimeg against Güzäl Mänürowa from Kazakhstan and took second place. At the 2011 World Cup in Istanbul , she defeated the strong Ukrainian Kateryna Burmistrowa , but then suffered a shoulder defeat in a tangible and turbulent fight against Ali Sue Bernard with a score of 13:17 in the 3rd round, which meant she was only 11th occupied. In March 2012 she won an Olympic qualification tournament in Astana ahead of Kyoko Hamaguchi and thus secured a starting place at the Olympic Games in London .
