from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jekaterina Borissowna Bukina ( Russian Екатерина Борисовна Букина ; born May 5, 1987 in Moscow , Soviet Union ) is a Russian wrestler . She won several medals at world and European championships.

Career

Ekaterina Bukina started wrestling in Moscow in 2000. She belongs to the Vites Moscow sports club . Her first trainer was NP Ivanovna. Since 2005 she has been trained by Valery Chupakov. She is a student, 1.75 meters tall and wrestles in the heaviest weight class in women's wrestling, the weight class up to 72 kg body weight.

Even as a junior she was used in several international championships and won several medals in these. In 2004 she came 2nd at the Junior European Championship (Cadets) in Albena / Bulgaria , in 2006 she won a bronze medal at the Junior World Championship in Guatemala City and in 2007 she was runner- up at the Junior World Championship in Beijing . She lost there in the final against the Chinese Jiao Wang , who also became Olympic champion a year later in Beijing .

In 2008, Ekaterina Bukina finished in Thessaloniki at the World University Championships in the weight class up to 72 kg behind Stephany Lee from the United States. At the Russian championship of this year she failed early on Jelena Perepelkina and therefore had no chance to qualify for participation in the Olympic Games in Beijing .

In 2009 she became Russian runner-up behind Jelena Perepelkina and in 2010 and 2011 she became Russian champion.

Because of this championship title, it was also used at the international championships in 2010 and 2011. At the European Championships in Baku in 2010 she won over Dina Iwanowa, Azerbaijan , Maider Unda Gonzales de Audicana , Spain and Marina Gastl , Austria . In the final, however, she was defeated by the strong Bulgarian Stanka Slatewa and became vice European champion. Also at the 2010 World Cup in Moscow she lost after defeating Laure Ali Annabel from Cameroon in her second fight against Stanka Slatewa. But she was able to secure a bronze medal in the consolation round with victories over Sheherazade Bentorki from France and Jenny Fransson from Sweden .

At the 2011 European Championships in Dortmund , Jekaterina Bukina first won over Maja Gunvor Erlandsen from Norway and then delivered a tough fight to Stanka Slatewa in her second fight, which she only just lost 1: 2 rounds with 3: 3 points. Since Stanka Slatewa did not reach the final of this championship due to a semi-final defeat against Kateryna Burmistrowa from Ukraine , Ekaterina Bukina did not get into the consolation round and had to make do with 8th place. At the 2011 World Cup in Istanbul , Jekaterina Bukina won over Laure Ali Annabel, Gelegdschamtsyn Narantschimeg , Mongolia , Xynthia Vanessa Vescan, France and Vasilissa Marsaljuk , Ukraine, and lost in the final to Stanka Slatewa (0: 2 rounds, 1: 4 points). With that she became vice world champion. She then proved that she can beat Stanka Slatewa at the so-called FILA test tournament for the Olympic Games in London , where she defeated them in the final on points and won this tournament.

At the European Championships 2012 in Belgrade , she was not at the start. At the Russian championship in 2012, which took place on the last weekend in March, Ekaterina Bukina lost in the final of this championship against Natalia Vorobjowa on shoulder. In Natalja Vorobjowa, she has become a major competitor in the fight for a ticket to the Olympic Games in London . Natalja Vorobjowa, who also became Olympic champion there, was actually used in London. Jekaterina Bukina was sent to the World Cup in Strathcona County in Canada in September 2012. But she could not convince there, because after winning a fight against Badrachyn Odontschimeg from Mongolia, she lost to Xu Qing from China, dropped out and only finished 7th.

In 2013, Ekaterina Bukina was again Russian champion in the weight class up to 72 kg, where she managed the feat in the semifinals to defeat the Olympic champion Natalia Vorobjowa. In July 2013 there was another great success, like winning the Universiade in Kazan. In the final, she defeated the American Brittany Roberts. At the European Championships and at the World Championships this year, it was not her, but Natalia Vorobjowa that was used.

In 2014 she was again Russian champion in the new weight class up to 75 kg before Jelena Perepelkina, Aljona Afanasjewa and Alena Starodubzewa. Natalja Vorobjowa had trained in the weight class up to 69 kg. In March 2014, she represented the Russian colors in the weight class up to 75 kg at the Team World Cup in Tokyo. She lost it in the final, which Japan won 8-0, against old champion Kyoko Hamaguchi on points. At the European Championships in Vantaa / Finland, Jekaterina Bukina won a bronze medal in the weight class up to 75 kg. On the way to this success she defeated Patricia Howis, Poland and Maria Selmaier, Germany, lost in the semifinals to Wasilisa Marsalijuk from Belarus and secured the medal by beating Zsanett Nemeth from Hungary.
