Jelena Ivanovna Perepelkina ( Russian Елена Ивановна Перепелкина ; born January 24, 1982 in Pushnoje , Vyborg Raion ) is a Russian wrestler . In 2006 she became European champion in the weight class up to 67 kg.

Career

Jelena Ivanovna Perepelkina comes from a St. Petersburg wrestling family. Next to her, her sister Evgenia wrestles and her first coach at the Lokomotiv St. Petersburg sports club was her father Ivan Perepelkin. She started wrestling in 1994. Later she trained to be a sports teacher. Your most important coach during your time with the Russian national team is Vladimir Kulibaba.

Jelena Perepelkina was already extremely successful as a junior wrestler. Right at her first start at an international championship, the Junior World Championship (Cadets) in Manchester , she won the title in the weight class up to 63 kg body weight ahead of the American Jessica Martin. In 1999 she became Junior European Champion (Juniors) in Budapest in the weight class up to 68 kg in front of Raisa Valeriana Christowa from Bulgaria . In addition, she was again Junior World Champion (Cadets) in Lodz in 1999, ahead of Stanka Slatewa from Bulgaria and Anita Schätzle from Germany . After not taking part in the international championships in 2000 and 2001, she won another European junior championship in the weight class up to 72 kg in 2002 in Tirana , ahead of Swetlana Sajenko from Ukraine . In the same year it was used in the active world championship in Chalkida / Greece in the weight class up to 67 kg. She still had to learn the hard way at this championship, because after defeating Xiomara Guevara from Venezuela , she lost to Kateryna Burmistrowa from Ukraine and only came in 9th.

Her next start at an international championship took place again at the 2005 European championship in Varna . She fought there in the weight class up to 67 kg and reached the final after victories over Laura Skujina, Latvia , Teresa Mendez, Spain and Katarzyna Jusczak , Poland , in which she was defeated by Kateryna Burmistrowa. She became vice European champion. In 2005, Jelena Perepelkina fought at the 2005 World Championships in Budapest in the weight class up to 67 kg after a defeat in the first fight against Meng Lili , China with victories over Masira Admiraal from the Netherlands a. Gelegdschamtsyn Narantschimeg from Mongolia received a bronze medal .

Jelena Perepelkina achieved the greatest success in her career at the 2006 European Championships in Moscow . In the weight class up to 67 kg, she won the European championship title in a superior manner over Agnieszka Wieszczek from Poland, Teresa Mendez and Kristine Odrina from Latvia . At the world championship of the same year in Guangzhou she was used in the weight class up to 72 kg KG. She lost her first fight there against Stanka Slatewa, but came in 3rd place with victories over Maria Luiza Vryoni from Greece and Wassilissa Marsaljuk from Belarus and thus won her second World Cup medal among the active players.

In 2007 she did not compete in any international championships. From this year it is known, however, that she was Russian vice-champion in the weight class up to 72 kg. In 2008 she won the Russian championship ahead of Alena Starodubzewa in the same weight class . She was then also used at the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 , but lost her first fight there against former world champion Kyoko Hamaguchi from Japan just on points (1: 2 rounds and 1: 2 points). Since Hamaguchi did not reach the final, Jelena Perepelkina was eliminated and only came in 11th place. After this disappointment, the next followed at the 2009 World Cup in Herning / Denmark , because she lost points there in the weight class up to 72 kg against Maider Unda Gonzales de Audicana from Spain (1: 2 rounds, 3: 3), was eliminated and reached just 11th place as in the 2008 Olympic Games.

After that, it was not used at any international championships. In 2011, however, she was the Russian runner- up behind Ekaterina Bukina , which suggests that she has not yet given up the fight for a starting place at the 2012 Olympic Games in London .
