Julija Anatolyevna Bartnowskaya

Julija Anatoljewna Bartnowskaja ( Russian Юлия Анатольевна Бартновская ; born February 25, 1984 ) is a Russian wrestler . In 2009 she became vice world champion in the weight class up to 67 kg body weight.

Career

Julija Bartnowskaja comes from the Krasnoyarsk Territory . She started wrestling in 1994 when she was ten. She belongs to the Viktor Krasnoyarsk sports club and is or was trained by Viktor Raikow, K. Sutschkow and Evgeni Lukjanow. She is a sports teacher in the Russian Army (Air Force).

She was already very successful as a junior wrestler. In 1999 she immediately became Junior World Champion (age group Cadets = up to the age of 16) in the weight class of 49 kg in Lodz . A year later, in 2000, she was also Junior European Cadet Champion in Bratislava in the weight class up to 56 kg, ahead of Marianna Sastin from Hungary . In 2001 she took 3rd place at the Junior European Championships for Cadets in Izmir in the weight class up to 65 kg and in 2002 she took 3rd place at the Junior European Championships in Tirana in the weight class up to 68 kg. She was defeated by Stanka Slatewa from Bulgaria .

In 2003 Julija Bartnowskaja was used in Riga in the weight class up to 67 kg for the first time at a European women's championship. She lost to Ewelina Pruszko from Poland , then defeated Olesja Samula from Azerbaijan and had to admit defeat to Lise Legrand from France in the battle for a bronze medal . It came in 5th place. In January 2004 she started the test tournament of the FILA (International World Wrestling Federation) for the Olympic Games in Athens and won the weight class up to 67 kg in front of such renowned women wrestlers as Jing Ruixue from the People's Republic of China , Norie Saito from Japan and Agnieszka Wieszczek from Poland. In 2004 she was then again Junior European Champion in Sofia ahead of Sylwia Starzec from Poland and Julia Weiß from Germany . She could not take part in the Olympic Games in Athens that year because the weight class in which she started was not Olympic.

In the years 2005 to 2007 Julija Bartnowskaja was not used in any international championships. In 2008, however, she competed at the World Championships in Tokyo . She came to three wins there, but was defeated in the decisive battle for a bronze medal of the Mongolin Ochirbatyn Nasanburmaa and had to be content with a 5th place again. In 2009 she won her first medals at international championships for women. At the European Championships in Vilnius she defeated Paulina Grabowska from Poland and the former world champion Nikola Hartmann-Dünser from Austria in the weight class up to 67 kg , but lost in the semifinals to Kateryna Burmistrowa from Ukraine . In the battle for a bronze medal, she finally defeated Roxana Camelia Iancolovici from Romania . She did even better at the World Championships in Herning / Denmark . In her traditional weight class, she defeated Ma Yan from China, Adeline Gray from the United States and Ifeoma Iheanacho from Nigeria and faced Martine Dugrenier from Canada in the final , against whom she lost. She became runner-up world champion.

In the following years, Julija Bartnowskaja played a number of international tournaments, where she always did well. At an international championship, however, it was only used again in 2012. She started at the European Championships in Belgrade and came in 5th there. At the Olympic Games in London in 2012 she was not at the start because the weight class up to 67 kg is not Olympic there either. She did not attempt to qualify for these games in another weight class.
