Mami Shinkai
Mami Shinkai ( Japanese 新海 真 美 , Shinkai Mami ; born June 7, 1985 ) is a Japanese wrestler . In 2008 she became vice world champion in the weight class up to 67 kg in Tokyo .
Career
Mami Shinkai started wrestling at a high school at the age of 15. She is now a student at Chūkyō University . There she is a member of the women's wrestling team. Since joining the Japanese women's wrestling team, Kazuhito Sakae has been the coach in charge of her. Mami Shinkai is only 1.58 meters tall and as an adult usually wrestles in the weight class up to 67 kg body weight. She is multiple Japanese champion in this weight class.
Mami Shinkai made her debut on the international wrestling mat at the 2003 Junior World Championships in Istanbul . There she started in the weight class up to 72 kg, but did not get beyond 11th place. It was only used again at the Asian Junior Championship in 2005 in Jeju / South Korea . There she won the title in the weight class up to 67 kg, ahead of Ma Yanchun from China and Otschirbatyn Nasanburmaa from Mongolia . Shortly afterwards she was also junior world champion in Vilnius in the same weight class. In the final, she defeated it Heather Martin from the United States . In the same year she also won the Universities World Cup in Izmir , where she relegated Hatun Muhcu from Turkey and Stefanie Howourn from Canada to the places.
At the 2006 World University Championships in Ulaanbaatar she was defeated in the final of the weight class up to 67 kg against Gelegdschamtsyn Narantschimeg from Mongolia and therefore took second place. In 2006 it was not used in other international championships.
In 2007, Mami Shinkai took 3rd place at the Asian Championship in Bishkek behind Chen Meng from China and Darja Karpenka from Kazakhstan, and in 2008 she was the first Asian champion in Jeju in the weight class up to 67 kg ahead of Otschirbatyn Nasanburmaa and Darja Karpenka. In the same year she advanced at the World Cup in Tokyo in 2008 after victories over Stefanie Maierhofer from Austria , Julija Bartnowskaja , Russia and Otschirbatyn Nasanburmaa in the final battle, in which she lost against Martine Dugrenier from Canada after points. She became runner-up world champion. It was not possible for Mami Shinkai to take part in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing because the weight class up to 67 kg is not Olympic.
In 2009 Mami Shinkai was beaten by Yoshiko Inoue at the Japanese championship in the weight class up to 67 kg . It was therefore not used at an international championship this year. In 2010 she represented Japan again at the World Cup in Moscow . She lost there in her second fight against Martine Dugrenier, then beat Maja Gunvor Erlandsen from Norway in the consolation round, but lost the fight for a world championship bronze medal against Ifeoma Iheanacho from Nigeria . It took 5th place.
In 2011 Mami Shinkai lost in the Japanese championship elimination in the weight class up to 67 kg in the semifinals against Hiroe Suzuki. In the course of 2011 she then switched to the Olympic weight class up to 72 kg body weight. In December 2011, however, she was defeated in this weight class at the Japanese championship in the final battle by Kyoko Hamaguchi , the former five-time world champion. The 2012 Olympic Games in London are therefore a long way off. But it was used in February 2012 at the Asian Championships in Gumi / South Korea and won a bronze medal there behind Güzäl Mänürowa , Kazakhstan and Badrachyn Odontschimeg from Mongolia.
