Alla Kostjantyniwna Cherkassova ( Ukrainian Алла Костянтинівна Черкасова ; born May 5, 1989 ) is a Ukrainian wrestler . She is a medalist at world and European championships.

Career

Alla Cherkassova started wrestling as a teenager in 2003. She is a member of the Kolos Lvov sports club and has been coached by Andrei Pistun since 2004. The 1.78 meter tall athlete is a sports teacher.

Its international Ringer career began in 2008. This year, took her by the World Youth Championship in Istanbul in the weight category to 59 kg body weight after a defeat in the semi-final against Anastasia Brattschikowa from Russia and a win over Aishan Ismagulowsa from Azerbaijan to 3rd place . In the same year it was used at the World Championships for women in Tokyo , where it only finished 10th in the weight class up to 59 kg after a victory over Ludmilla Christea from Romania and a defeat against Elvira Mursalowa from Azerbaijan.

In 2010 Alla Cherkassova won a strong World Cup tournament in the weight class up to 67 kg in Nanjing / People's Republic of China, ahead of Badrachyn Odontschimeg from Mongolia , Qui Xiaoqing , People's Republic of China and Mami Shinkai , Japan . She was then used in this weight class at the World Championships in Moscow , where she won a World Cup with victories over Kristie Marano (Davis), USA , Chen Ying, China and Natalja Semenzowa from Azerbaijan in a defeat in the semifinals against Jelena Schalygina , Kazakhstan . Won bronze medal.

After a year break at international championships, she returned to the European championship in Belgrade in March 2012 , where she reached the final with victories over Juli Bartnowskaja , Russia and Natalja Semnzowa. In this she was defeated by the Swede Henna Johansson and became vice- European champion . She could not start at the 2012 Olympic Games in London because her weight class took part in Strathcoona County, Canada, in September 2012, where she was only able to score in the weight class up to 63 kg after defeating Sakshi Malik from India and losing to Jelena Schalygine from Kazakhstan 7th place.

After that, Alla Cherkassova took a two-year break from competition and did not start again until 2015 in some international tournaments.

In March 2016, she started again for the first time at an international championship, the European championship in Riga. She won a bronze medal there, now starting in the weight class up to 75 kg after a victory over Zsanett Nemeth, Hungary, a defeat against Yasemin Adar, Turkey and victories over Epp Mae, Estonia and Daria Osocka, Poland. In April 2016 she qualified with a 2nd place behind Yasemin Adar at the Olympic qualification tournament in Zrenjanin in the weight class up to 75 kg for participation in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. At the Olympic Games, she met Yasemin Adar again in the first round, to whom she lost again. Since Yasemin Adar did not reach the final, Alla Cherkassova was eliminated and only came in 11th place.

At the 2017 European Championships in Novi Sad, she started in the weight class up to 69 kg. She defeated A Focken from Germany and Ilana Kratysch from Israel, then lost to Maria Mamaschuk from Belarus and then secured another bronze medal by winning the consolation round over Buse Tosun, Turkey.

In 2018 Alla Cherkassova already achieved excellent placings in the preliminary tournaments for the international championships and even won the China Open in June 208 and the Poland Open in August 2018. However, she did not start at the European Championship 2018. At the 2018 World Championships in Budapest in October 2018 she was in excellent shape in the weight class up to 68 kg and became the new world champion with victories over Maria Mamaschuk, Wiktoria Bobewa, Bulgaria, Zhou Feng, China and Koumba Larroque, France.

In April 2019 she became European champion in Bucharest in the same weight class with victories over Agnieszka Wieszczek-Kordus, Poland, Jenny Fransson, Sweden, Irina Netreba, Azerbaijan and Adela Hanzlickowa, Czech Republic.
