Her international wrestling career began at the 2011 European Junior Championships in Zrenjanin, where she came 7th in the "Juniors" age group in the weight class up to 72 kg. In March 2012 she started with the women for the first time at the European Championships in Belgrade and had to be content with 15th place in the weight class up to 72 kg after defeats against Maja Gunvor Erlandsen , Norway, and Natalja Palamartschuk, Azerbaijan.
She missed qualifying for the 2012 Olympic Games in London because she only came 14th in the qualifying tournament in Sofia in the weight class up to 72 kg. But it started in September 2012 in Strathcoona County, Canada, at the Women's World Cup. After a defeat against Jenny Fransson from Sweden, a victory over Oksana Waschtschuk from Ukraine and a defeat against the Chinese Xu Qing, she finished in a good 5th place.
At the 2013 World Championships in Budapest, Yasemin Adar came in the weight class up to 72 kg after victories over Jyoti, India, Aline da Silva Ferreira, Brazil, and Heb Nam-ju, South Korea, and defeats against Zhang Fengliu from China and Adeline Gray from the United States in 5th place.
At the World and European Championships in 2014 and 2015, where she was also at the start, she did not achieve any top positions. In 2016 she was successful at the European Championships in Riga in the weight class up to 75 kg. There she became European champion with victories over Epp Mae , Estonia, Alla Tscherkassowa , Ukraine, Daria Osocka, Poland, and Alena Starodubzewa from Russia. In May 2017 she became European champion again in Novi Sad in the weight class up to 75 kg with victories over Wasilisa Marzaliuk , Belarus, Alena Starodubzewa, Epp Mae and Zsanett Nemeth , Hungary, and then Yasemin Adar was in the same weight class in Paris in August 2017 Victories over Maria Selmaier , Germany, Hiroe Minagawa , Japan, Epp Mae and Wasilisa Marzaliuk, world champion for the first time in her career . At the 2018 World Championships in Budapest, she was unable to defend her title in the highest weight class in women's wrestling, since 2018 up to a body weight of 76 kg. She first won over Sabira Aliyeva, Azerbaijan, Hiroe Minagawa Suzuki, Japan and Zsanett Nemeth, Hungary, but was caught in the final by her opponent Adeline Gray with a leg brace, went crazy five times and thus lost prematurely with a score of 1:13.
At the 2019 World Cup in Nur-Sultan (Kazakhstan), Yasemin Adar met Chinese Zhou Qian in the qualification up to 76 kg, against whom she lost just on points. Since the Chinese did not reach the final, Yasemin Adar was eliminated early and only came in 19th place.
