Natalja Witaljewna Kuksina ( Russian: Наталья Витальевна Куксина ; born June 27, 1984 in Chita ) is a Russian wrestler . She won several medals at world and European championships.

Career

Natalja Kuksina has been wrestling since 2000. It belongs to the sports club Dinamo Kemerovo and was and is trained by Abdula Chasseidjanow and Vladimir Seklesow. As an adult, with a height of 1.65 meters, she usually wrestles in the weight class up to 67 kg. She studied sports and has been the mother of a son since 2009. Because of the birth of this son, she was not on the wrestling mat in 2009 and in the first half of 2010.

Natalja Kuksina did not belong to the elite of Russian wrestlers when she was a junior. It was only in 2004 that she managed to draw attention to herself at national championships. Her first international assignment was then in 2004 the Grand Prix of Germany in Dormagen . In the weight class up to 67 kg she only finished 5th. In 2005 she started at the Universities World Championship in Izmir , where she won a bronze medal in the same weight class behind Mami Shinkai from Japan and Hatun Muhcu from Turkey .

In 2007 she was the first Russian champion and therefore represented her country at the World Cup in Baku . There she won over Gunhild Fretland, Norway and Kateryna Burmistrowa , Ukraine , then lost to Martine Dugrenier from Canada and secured a World Cup bronze medal with a victory over Darja Karpenko from Kazakhstan . In 2008 she became Russian champion again. At the European Championships this year in Tampere she reached the weight class up to 67 kg with victories over Kristin Büttner , Germany a. Lise Legrand from France the final battle, in which she lost to Marjana Kwiatkowska from Ukraine. She became vice European champion. Since the weight class up to 67 kg is not part of the Olympic program, Natalja Kuksina could not start at the games in Beijing .

After her baby break, she took part in the Russian championship again in July 2010. She had to compete there in the weight class up to 72 kg because she was not able to completely work off the weight gain during her break. In this weight class she came in 3rd place behind Jekaterina Bukina and Alena Starodubzewa . At the Russia Cup in Chekhov in October 2010 she was able to start again in the weight class up to 67 kg and won there before her Russian competitors Darima Sanschejewa , Oksana Nagornyh and Maria Lyulkowa. At the Russian championship in 2011 she was back in this weight class and won her third Russian championship title there, ahead of Darima Sanschejewa and Julija Bartnowskaja. At the 2011 World Cup in Istanbul, however, she disappointed, because she lost her first fight there against Nadezhda Semenzova from Azerbaijan and then dropped out because Semenzova did not reach the final. Therefore it only came in 10th place.

Whether Natalja Kuksina, who earned all her successes in the weight class up to 67 kg, with a view to the Olympic Games in London in 2012 , at which the weight class up to 67 kg will not be Olympic again, but will switch to another Olympic weight class, it will show. In 2012, Natalja Kuksina stayed in the weight class up to 67 kg. So she had no way of qualifying for the Olympic Games. She was again Russian champion in this weight class, but did not start at the World or European Championships this year.
