Irina Ivanovna Kiritschenko ( Russian Ирина Ивановна Кириченко , married: Васильева, Wassiljewa ; born  June 13, 1937 in Voroshilovgrad ; † March 11, 2020 ) was a Soviet track cyclist and two-time world champion.

Athletic career

Irina Kiritschenko belonged to the guards of Soviet female cyclists who ruled track cycling in the 1960s . Twice - in 1964 and 1966 - she was world champion in the sprint . Four times she took second place in this discipline at world championships and once third. It was last internationally successful in 1969. She has been the Soviet champion in the sprint and 500-meter time trial nine times .

In 1969 she married Igor Tschislow, with whom she has a daughter (* 1971). From 1973 Kirichenko worked as a trainer.
