Mark Shipman (born January 3, 1973 in Leeds ) is a former British water diver . He started for the City of Sheffield Diving Club in the disciplines 1-meter and 3-meter jumping and with Tony Ally in 3-meter synchronized jumping . Shipman took part in two Olympic Games . He won a medal in synchronized jumping at the Commonwealth Games and the European Swimming Championships .

Shipman's first major international competition was the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria . There he was tenth on the 1-meter board and eighth on the 3-meter board. At the 1998 World Championships in Perth he reached fourth place with Ally in the 3-meter synchronized jumping and thus his best result at a World Cup. In the same year he was ninth on the 1-meter board and sixth on the 3-meter board at the Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur . At the European Championships in Istanbul in 1999 Shipman won his first international medal, he won bronze with Ally in the 3-meter synchronized jumping. He started at the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney , he couldn't finish the competition from the 3-meter board, in the 3-meter synchronized jumping he was seventh with Ally. The duo finished fourth at the World Cup in Fukuoka and narrowly missed a medal again. In his second Olympic participation in 2004 in Athens reached Shipman from the 3-meter board the semi-final and was 18th in the 3m synchronized diving, he was good with Ally fifth. In his last major competition, the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne , he won silver with Ally and ended his career with what is probably his greatest sporting success.
