Mathew Glen Helm (born December 9, 1980 in Bourke ) is a former Australian water diver . He started in 10 m tower and 10 m synchronized jumping. He won two medals at the Olympic Games and was also a world champion. His dubbing partner was Robert Newbery .

Helm took part in three Olympic Games . He started in the individual from the 10 m tower and in the 10 m synchronized jumping with Robert Newbery. In 2000 in Sydney he was eighth in the tower and fifth in synchronized jumping. In 2004 in Athens he won two medals. He won silver from the tower and bronze in synchronized jumping. In 2008 in Beijing he was sixth from the tower and in synchronized diving he just missed a medal in fourth.

Helm first took part in the World Cup in Fukuoka in 2001 . He won bronze from the 10 m tower, and came fourth in the synchronizing competition. At the 2003 World Cup in Barcelona , Helm also won his first title. He won the 10 m synchronized jumping with Newbery. He also won silver from the 10 m tower.

Helm achieved a double victory at the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne . He won the 10 m tower and synchronized jumping.

Helm initially ended his career after the 2006 Commonwealth Games, but started a comeback for the 2008 Olympic Games. Today he works as a trainer. Helm is openly gay.
