Anna Bader

Anna Natascha Bader (born December 12, 1983 in Mutlangen , Baden-Württemberg ) is a German cliff diver and water diver . She is seven-time European cliff diving champion and won the bronze medal at the 2013 World Swimming Championships .

Career

Anna Bader was born in Mutlangen, Baden-Württemberg , as the daughter of Angelika Kern- Bader, a two-time Olympic athlete in gymnastics , and grew up in Morbach in the Hunsrück and in North Rhine-Westphalia; she attended elementary school in Teningen for two years . Between 1994 and 1996 she trained under the guidance of the Olympic champions Larissa and Wiktor Klimenko at the state performance center for artistic gymnastics in Niederwörresbach and qualified twice for the German individual championships. At the age of 13, she also began the SSV Trier with the water jump , In 1999, Bader because of better training conditions for Mainz swimming club . In 2001 Anna Bader became German team champion in artistic gymnastics with the KTV Niederwörresbach .

Between 2000 and 2003 Anna Bader won several medals at the German youth championships in art and high diving; Among other things, she became German champion in combination in 2002. Together with Ina Schmitt , Bader won the bronze medal in synchronized jumping at the German senior championships in Aachen in 2004 . The German Swimming Association (DSV) also appointed her to the B1 squad of the German national team. In December 2013 Bader and Julia Wenskus won the DSV freestyle cup in synchronized jumping from the tower at the German team championship in Dresden .

At the age of 17, Bader learned about cliff jumping in Jamaica . In 2005 she became European champion in women's cliff jumping for the first time in Ponte Brolla (Switzerland). She repeated this success in 2007 in Ponte Brolla, in 2008 in Cavergno (Switzerland) and in 2009, 2011 and 2012 in Ponte Brolla. In 2013 she took part in the mixed competition in Ponte Brolla, where she finished second overall behind the Swiss Andreas Hulliger and won the women's European championship title for the seventh time. At the 2013 World Swimming Championships in Barcelona , Spain , a high diving competition was held for the first time. In the women's competition from a height of 20 meters, Anna Bader won the bronze medal on July 30th behind the Americans Cesilie Carlton and Ginger Huber .

Between 2010 and 2012 Bader appeared in Macau on the world's largest water show, The House of Dancing Water. In August 2013 she was featured in the German edition of the men's magazine Playboy .

Personal

In 2003 Bader passed her Abitur in Mainz and then studied English, Spanish and geography at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz . In 2014, she started her teaching traineeship in Freiburg im Breisgau in the subjects of English and geography, which she successfully completed in 2016.

Their daughter Roxana was born in September 2016.
