Joona Tapio Puhakka (born June 23, 1982 in Kerava ) is a former Finnish diver . He jumped from the 1-meter and 3-meter board in artificial jumping. Puhakka took part in three Olympic Games and won several medals at world and European championships.

Puhakka won his first international medal at the European Home Championships in Helsinki in 2000 , he won bronze from the 1-meter board. In the same year he took part in the Olympic Games in Sydney , but from the 3-meter board he missed the semifinals as 30th. He celebrated one of his greatest successes at the 2003 World Cup in Barcelona , where he won bronze from the 1-meter board. He won his first international title in 2004. At the European Championships , he won gold from the 1-meter board and also silver from the 3-meter board. At the Olympic Games in Athens this time he reached 14th place in the semifinals from the 3-meter board. At the 2005 World Championships in Montreal , he narrowly missed a medal in fourth, but was able to win his 1-meter title at the 2006 European Championships in Budapest. Defended board and took bronze from the 3-meter board. At the 2007 World Championships in Melbourne , he jumped with Ville Vahtola, his only international synchronized competition. The duo came tenth in the final of the 3-meter synchronized jumping. In 2008 in Eindhoven Puhakka won his last medals with silver from the 1-meter and bronze from the 3-meter board. After the Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008 , where he narrowly missed the final as 13th of the semifinals from the 3-meter board, Puhakka ended his active career.

Between 2002 and 2006, Puhakka studied at the University of Arizona . During this time he also started for the university's sports team, the Sun Devils , and won four college championships, two each from the 1-meter and 3-meter board. He graduated in marketing in 2006.
