Goodbye Germany! Die Emanderer is a docu-soap produced by 99pro , RTL Studios, Flamingo Pictures and SEEMA Media, among others , and broadcast by the Cologne TV station VOX . The program shows Germans who emigrate or who have already emigrated.

content

In each episode, one to four emigrant families are shown and the entire process of emigration is documented. Some episodes also feature emigrants who have been living in another country for years. Occasionally the emigration is accompanied by known people.

Before departure

Shortly before they emigrate, the respective family is introduced and their motives are reported. It's about the destination country and why she chose it. Again, the individual family members tell what they will miss in their new home, what they hope for from life in another country and which dreams they want to realize there. Furthermore, different farewell scenes are shown, such as the children's last day of school or the father's last visit to his local pub. On the day of departure, the family is accompanied to the airport, where there are often tearful goodbyes to relatives and friends.

Arrived in the new home, scenes from the first night spent there follow. In the next two to three weeks, the family is then accompanied to the authorities, buying a house or a car, the children's first day of school or everyday situations such as shopping in the supermarket.

The family gets another visit from the reporters after about a month.

Long-term support

Some families are followed by the television station for years, but some can only be seen for half a year. For example, the Konny Reimann , Fabio and Jörg Klein family, Bianca Bebensee, Jennifer Matthias and Jens Büchner from Cala Millor , Pierre and Anta Höveler with their children from Granada , Chris Töpperwien , Krümel , Jannine Weigel and their family or Daniela Katzenberger were about reported for an extended period.

Others

Since July 17, 2007, VOX has been broadcasting Goodbye Germany! The emigrants doubled. The Cologne TV station is now showing a two-hour version of the program, the focus of which is a self-contained story of emigrants. The documentary will be broadcast on Mondays at 8:15 p.m.

Some of the actors, such as Konny Reimann, Jens Büchner, Daniela Katzenberger and Jannine Weigel, have also become popular beyond the show. About Reimann is since 2013 in the spin-off telecast The Reimann - an extraordinary life ( RTL II ) further reported in detail about Katzenberger among others from 2010 to 2013 in Daniela Katzenberger - naturally blonde and since 2015 Daniel Katz . Jens Büchner achieved success as a pop singer and was in various RTL shows such as Ich bin ein Star - Get me out of here! to see. Jannine Weigel became a well-known pop star in Thailand .

According to a report in the newspaper Die Welt on March 28, 2013, the fate of one of the emigrant families from Rhineland-Palatinate took a dramatic turn when the son crashed in the plane in his newly chosen home USA .
