Jens “Malle-Jens” Büchner (born October 30, 1969 in Zwenkau ; † November 17, 2018 in Palma , Mallorca , Spain ) was a German reality TV participant and pop singer , who was known primarily through his participation in the television program Goodbye Germany ( VOX ) and I'm a star - get me out of here! ( RTL ) gained notoriety.

Life

Jens Büchner grew up in the village of Eythra near Leipzig , which had to give way to the Zwenkau opencast mine in the 1980s . The family went to Bad Schmiedeberg . Büchner finished school there with the tenth grade. He completed an apprenticeship as a locksmith. He was then called up for basic military service and finished it in Halle in 1990 . According to his own information, Büchner was a member of the "Feliks Dzierzynski" guard regiment from 1987 to 1990 and was a full-time employee of the GDR State Security . In the 1990s, he traveled to Florida and California for several months . In Germany he worked at a gas station and in the catering trade. In the vicinity of Bremen he completed an apprenticeship as a financier until 2004. At the same time, he worked as a freelancer for the Bremen-based financial services provider Deutsche Proventus AG.

In November 2010, Büchner emigrated to Mallorca with his then partner Jennifer Matthias and their son from Bad Schmiedeberg . At the beginning of 2011 he was seen for the first time at Goodbye Germany . The couple opened the “Store & More” boutique in Cala Millor , which Matthias continued to run on his own after the private and business separation in 2013. Büchner then embarked on various professional paths. He tried briefly as a kitchen helper in the Bistro König von Mallorca in Santa Ponça . He also worked as a jewelry designer, heater salesman, swimwear model and hotelier.

From 2014 Büchner was active as a pop singer. In January 2016 he was in a “Goodbye Germany! Mallorca-Spezial “from The Perfect Celebrity Dinner .

In January 2017, Büchner took part in the 11th season of Ich bin ein Star - Get me out of here on RTL and took 6th place. Also in January 2017 he was in an episode of Deutschland sucht den Superstar , where he failed with his own composition Eyes to the casting through the night .

Büchner met his future wife Daniela Karabaş in the summer of 2015 at a city festival in Delmenhorst , where he performed as a pop singer. Karabaş brought three children from his first marriage into the relationship. In addition to the son from the relationship with Jennifer Matthias, Büchner had two grown daughters from his first marriage. Büchner and Karabaş became parents of twins in 2016. As of June 2017, they were married. Together, the couple took part in the third season of The Summer House of Stars - Fight of the Celebrity Couples in the summer of 2018 .

Büchner died on November 17, 2018 at the age of 49 in Son Espases University Hospital in Palma, Mallorca, of complications from lung cancer .

As part of a charity event in Essen in February 2019, money was collected for Büchner's children. Several pop stars, including Jürgen Drews , Mickie Krause and Mia Julia , participated in this event.
