Ingrid G. Schmitz (born April 20, 1955 in Düsseldorf ) is a German crime writer.

Life

Ingrid Schmitz worked in Düsseldorf as a forwarding agent for a Canadian shipping company and later in Soviet foreign trade before she began the family phase as a mother and housewife. Years later, she decided to take a distance learning course in the craft of writing, and in 2000 she became a freelance writer.

Schmitz published around sixty crime short stories, sixteen anthologies , over thirty e-books, etc. a. at Neobooks, three audio books and six detective novels . She is the inventor of the series character Mia Magaloff, a private investigator. So far published are: Sins, Murder Deal, 2 Lives - 1 Death, Liebeskiller, Spiekerooger Utkieker and Mordsreise.

From 2006, Ingrid Schmitz appeared for four years as a fictional character under the pseudonym Sameja Lomba ( Avatar ) in Second Life . She is the first German crime writer to publish short stories about Second Life . In 2009, 2 life - 1 death appeared . This novel is set not only in the real world, but also in the virtual one. Her series heroine Mia Magaloff became virtually real through the avatar Mia2 McGinnis , and the protagonists and locations described in the book could be visited in Second Life. In August 2011 Droemer Knaur Verlag, Munich / Neobooks signed 2 life - 1 death and published it as an updated and interactive e-book / eRiginal.

In 2011 Schmitz published her first biography Currywurst & Dolce Vita about the emigrant couple Anke and Dirk Leithäuser, also known as Hasi and Didi from the television program Goodbye Germany! The emigrants at VOX who emigrated to Lake Garda with the food truck. Schmitz also publishes culinary anthologies on individual countries such as Italy, France, Spain, England / Scotland / Ireland and Greece.

In 2017 the Eifel novel "Mord im Krimihotel" appeared outside of the Mia Magaloff series. This time it's about the crime writer Lea Schein, who is supposed to give a weekend reading in the actually existing Hillesheim crime hotel. When one of her guests is found dead in the hotel car park, Lea Schein has to investigate - this time not on paper.

Ingrid Schmitz is a member of Syndikat , Vereinigung Murderische Sisters and International Association of Crime Writers.
