The German-speaking association Murderous Sisters e. V. is a non-profit association with the aim of promoting culture and German-language crime literature written by women. Members are authors, readers, bookwomen (all with a penchant for crime fiction ) and specialists in criminological, legal, medical, psychological and journalistic fields. Murderous Sisters is considered to be the largest European non-profit association of German-speaking crime authors. The more than 550 members are listed by name on the official website of the network. They come mainly from Germany , Austria and Switzerland , but also from Australia , Great Britain , Italy , Portugal , Sweden , Ireland and the USA .

Authors support the organization through various activities, including a .:

  • Trademark of the Murderous Sisters e. V. has been the so-called "Ladies Crime Night" since 2007, a special reading format where excerpts from their publications are presented to the audience by several crime writers - against the clock / shortest reading.
  • a one-year mentoring program between experienced crime writers and beginners,
  • a scholarship worth 1500 euros, with which the Murderous Sisters have sponsored an author's crime project selected by a jury every year since 2014,
  • the Golden Auguste , an award that is given every three years to people who have made a name for themselves in women's crime fiction.
  • regional groups, so-called regional groups, within which personal exchange and training courses as well as readings take place on site,

The German-speaking section of Sisters in Crime , the German Chapter - Murderous Sisters, was founded in 1996. In 2007, the German Chapter broke away from the American organization and has since been called Murderous Sisters - Association of German-Speaking Crime Authors . The Murderous Sisters have been a registered association since 2012.
