Network author rights

The network authors' rights is an information network and a cross-association representation of interests of German-speaking authors and translators associations.

Foundation and activities

The network was founded on October 2, 2016 in Berlin as a common interest group for more than 7000 writers in order to give authors a strong voice against legislators and rights exploiters. The network thus became an important mouthpiece for German authors in the context of the debate about an amendment to copyright law . On December 16, 2016, the German Bundestag resolved to amend copyright law.

The network aims to anchor recall rights for authors in the law and a far-reaching in the future class action suits to enforce. It advocates adequate remuneration for writers and acts as a multiplier for German and European legislators.

The initiator of the network is the writer Nina George .

The network is supported by the Förderverein Buch eV
