The Alm (also the pasture - Celebrity sweat and edelweiss ) is a reality TV - TV show , the first time in 2004 on ProSieben aired. People, who have usually already appeared on television, face the challenge of spending some time in a lonely hut in the mountains and leading a luxury-free farming life there like 100 years ago.
concept
Nine people, who have usually already appeared on television, live for two weeks under camera surveillance in a lonely hut in the middle of the mountains. This is the Oberhof, located between Zösenberg and Zösental in the Mühlwalder Valley ( South Tyrol / Italy ). They live life like 100 years ago: The participants face the simple, extremely strenuous mountain farming life, far from luxury, technology and the stress of deadlines. You have to prove that you have team spirit and perseverance. At the beginning, the candidates have to exchange their everyday outfits for appropriate clothing and hand in modern goods such as mobile phones. They also do without electricity and warm water on the Alm. They have to muck out the stable themselves, milk and slaughter cows in order to prepare their food. They receive support from the mountain farmer Joseph “Alm-Öhi” Huber.
The viewers decide by telephone vote who will be the “Sepp of the day” (1st season) or who has to go to the “Muhprobe” (2nd season). The chosen person has to do nauseating extra tasks like blowing a bowel filled with feces or taking a bath in a tub filled with liquid manure. As a reward, warm food or drinks, luxury goods such as toilet paper, and greetings from families and friends are earned. In the second season, the tasks are only a little disgusting, but often have to do with courage. Luxury goods are earned. After a few days, smaller tasks were added which, when the next moo sample candidate was announced, had to be solved live by a participant who was determined by the spin of the bottle. Modern foods are available for handling them.
Seasons

Shortly before the start of the season, Kader Loth replaced Tatjana Gsell , who had suffered a circulatory collapse . In the final of the show, Loth was elected “Almkönigin”.

Second season
On March 3, 2011, ProSieben announced that the show would return in the summer. On July 1, 2011 Janine Kunze and Daniel Aminati were introduced as new moderators. The commentator is the actual football commentator Markus Gaupp. The show aired daily at 10:15 p.m. from August 20, 2011 until the finale on September 3. The first candidates were announced on August 5, 2011. As with the first season, the farmer Joseph Huber acts as Alm-Öhi.
The Dorfrocker reached with Auf der Alm of the second season, the theme song, before the transmission grid position 60 of the German single charts.
Due to a fire in the ProSiebenSat.1 Media broadcasting center, the August 24 edition was broadcast without advertising. Moderator Janine Kunze pointed out "technical problems", which is why several minutes of live images from the Alm were broadcast at the end of the program. Immediately afterwards, the program was repeated, but it was canceled because it was possible to broadcast the regular program again. Until the reconstruction of broadcast logs, which specify the actual start and end of each broadcast to the minute, no quotas could be given for this issue. The ratings were submitted on August 29th. In the final broadcast on September 3rd, Manni Ludolf was voted "Almkönig 2011".
