The Dorfrocker are a German music group from Kirchaich in Lower Franconia . Their music can be assigned to the area of ​​"party rock" and contains stylistic elements of folk music , rock music , pop and country music . The village rockers have appeared in over 120 television shows, played in over 1200 live concerts at home and abroad and have more than 160,000 Facebook fans. The group consists of the three brothers Tobias, Markus and Philipp Thomann, who appear at concerts together with their live band. In 2017 they were nominated for the ECHO in the "Folk Music" category.

Career

2007-2011

After the musicians had sent demos with songs they had written to various record labels, they were signed by Ariola . On March 17, 2007, the first TV appearance followed on the ARD Saturday evening show Spring Festival of Folk Music and the debut album Party, Mädels geile Zeit . The group also appeared as the opening act for the Schürzenjäger at their 2007 farewell concert in front of around 60,000 spectators. At the Grand Prix of Folk Music in 2008 , the band took fourth place with the title And off goes the Lutzzzi in the final, making their title the best German contribution. Another album in 2009 was followed by the single Vogelbeerbaum / Schwarz-Rot-Gold in early 2010 , which brought the group to the single charts for the first time in Germany . The video for the song Vogelbeerbaum was clicked 3,744,937 times on the Internet video portal YouTube (as of April 7, 2020). The studio album Remmi Demmi , released in June 2010, reached number 65 in the German album charts. On December 19, 2010 Die Dorfrocker were awarded the Herbert Roth Prize . Her single Auf der Alm was selected from around 30 applicants in the summer of 2011 as the theme music for the ProSieben show Die Alm .

2012-2013

On the occasion of their five-year existence, the village rockers released their fifth album entitled Roll off the red carpet on July 27, 2012, and entered the German album charts at number 27. For the single Dorfkind , which is included on the album, the village rockers shot a music video in New York that received over 4 million views (as of September 2018) on Youtube. They also presented the song on television in the Musikantenstadl on September 15, 2012 and on August 26, 2012 on Immer wieder sonntags (ARD) and in the ZDF TV garden on September 23, 2012. In the first week after its release, the album entered the German album charts at number 12. In the weeks that followed, the album stayed in the German album charts. On November 26, 2014, the village rockers in Berlin were honored with the Smago Award as "Kings of the festival tents" and "Self-made men of the industry".

2015

On February 20, 2015 it was announced that Starwatch Entertainment is signing the village rockers. On April 17, 2015, the album Holz was released with 15 new songs, including brass music , Die Glöcknerin von Dingolfing and Das Fleisch ist seine . This album went from 0 to 4 in the German album charts in the first week of sales, which is the village rockers' greatest chart success to date. 2016

There was a foretaste of this at the TV premiere of the new album with the new song Thumbs Up , which the village rockers presented on the ARD show Every Sunday on May 29, 2016. Home.Country.Love. entered the German album charts at number nine and is thus - after Holz - the second village rocker album in a row in the top 10 of the charts.

2017

From the album Heimat.Land.Liebe. The song Thumbs Up was released as a single in February 2017 - in the DJ and radio mix. The village rockers celebrated their 10th stage anniversary in March 2017 and were nominated for the most important music award in Germany, the Echo , for the first time in their career . After a new edition and publication of the song Dorfkind ( Mia Julia feat. Dorfrocker) in a Mallorcan style mix, the video of which reached over 3.5 million clicks on YouTube in just under a year (as of April 7, 2020: 8,535,010 clicks), the Dorfrocker in the second half of the year also the new songs So schön and Let's raise our glasses as video clips, as well as the single Machmalärm , which was released on December 8, 2017 on the well-known compilation "Après Ski Hits 2018".

2018

In February 2018, the village rockers published the song Jupp is the best man as a video on their Facebook page and in just a few days caused a viral hit, which the Bild-Zeitung and Bayerischer Rundfunk reported, among others. With "Hey Schakkeline, where is the Vaseline?" followed in April the release of a pre-release single for the album "Hallo Alle Mann", which was released on September 7, 2018. This album immediately landed at number 9 in the German album charts, making it the third Dorfrocker album in a row that made it into the TOP10 of the German charts. The single "Feuerwehr" contained on it became a viral hit shortly before the album was released and the associated video clip received over 2.2 million views on the Internet within a week. With the song, the village rockers want to address and support the volunteer work of the fire fighters. "They are our heroes" says the lyrics.

2019

In April 2019 the village rockers released their single "Engelbert Strauss", a song that describes the advantages of rural life compared to the "Schicki-Micki" world. After a few weeks and for the rest of 2019, this track became the most popular song of the village rockers on the Spotify streaming portal. The title was linked to the sampler "Ballermann Hits 2019". In the summer of 2019, the village rockers performed in addition to their usual year-round concerts with a band in the pub "Bierkönig" on Mallorca, where they presented their most famous songs such as "Dorfkind", "Tiefkühlpizza", "Vogelbeerbaum" or "Engelbert Strauss" .
