The Bierkönig is a beer garden and an open-air large-capacity discotheque on the island of Mallorca at the Platja de Palma (also Playa de Palma). The approximately 8 km long sandy beach is located southeast of the island's capital Palma . The Bierkönig is located in the so-called "Schinkenstraße" at the level of Balneario 6 or Ballermann 6 .

history

The location was opened in 1988 and is now one of the most popular attractions for German party tourists.

A renovation took place in 2002, the reason being the laws, compliance with which has become increasingly strict over time. For example, it is forbidden to use sound on people on open terraces after midnight . Since the Bierkönig was a pure open-air discotheque until the end of the 2001 season, a two-story indoor area was added. With this measure, the beer king was allowed to keep the music playing after midnight, but only in the new interior area.

In 2012, part of the new area was framed with glass and a new large show stage was built. This part is also called the “new area”. In the spring of 2013, a large video screen was installed in the new area, which mostly shows football matches . During a star performance, a live broadcast of the vocal performance can be seen on the screen .

Trivia

The founder of the beer king Manfred Meisel was murdered in 1997 in his finca "Barracas" in S'Aranjassa.
