Deep Wounds - Ein Taunuskrimi is a German television film from 2015. The literary film adaptation is based on the novel of the same name by Nele Neuhaus and is the fourth episode of the crime series Der Taunuskrimi .

action

Investigators Pia Kirchhoff and Oliver von Bodenstein have to solve the murder of a 92-year-old Holocaust survivor who was downright executed in his house. During the autopsy, a tattoo is discovered which suggests that the victim was a member of the Waffen SS. When two more murders follow the same pattern, investigators fear a serial killer. The three murdered have a number written in blood: 16,145. All three had a relationship with the Kaltensee family of manufacturers, who fled East Prussia to the Taunus towards the end of the Second World War and then built up a global corporation. The investigator duo bursts with the news of the murder of an old friend in the middle of the celebrations for the 90th birthday of the matriarch, Vera Kaltensee. At some point it turns out that the first victim, the alleged Auschwitz survivor Goldberg, was by no means a Jew, but a member of the Waffen SS. Because the solution to the riddle can only be found in the former East Prussia, Pia Kirchhoff unofficially travels to Poland, where everything is finally cleared up.

Reviews

Tilmann P. Gangloff from tittelbach.tv found few words of praise and said: “'Deep Wounds' [although] has a fascinating story of revenge to offer, but the script does not exhaust the potential of the plot, but is lost in the typical Nele-Neuhaus- A cosmos made up of far too many characters, and the implementation by Marcus O. Rosenmüller is not very remarkable and has little tension over long periods. The main shortcomings, however, remain the main actors: Tim Bergmann & Felicitas Woll only act alongside, not with each other. "
