The Kabarett Niedermair is a cabaret -Theater in the 8th Viennese district of Josefstadt was founded in 1983 by Nadja Niedermair.

history

Nadja Niedermair directed the Niedermair cabaret for eight years from 1983 to 1991. From the beginning it was a breeding ground for high-quality and future-oriented cabaret and cabaret programs.

Many well-known cabaret artists had their first appearances in the Niedermair: Josef Hader , Thomas Maurer , Martin Puntigam , Leo Lukas , Mike Supancic and the group " Schlabarett " ( Alfred Dorfer , Peter Wustinger and Andrea Händler ). They all used the "springboard" held every six months in Niedermair for newcomers as the starting signal for their career as an artist.

From 1991 to 2001 the cabaret artist I Stangl directed the Niedermair. The first stage appearances of "Steinböck & Rudle", Thomas Stipsits , Gery Seidl , Klaus Eckel and others fall into his era . a. In addition to cabaret performances, I Stangl also established high-quality children's theater.

From 2001 to 2003, the head of the Viennese “backdrop” Doris Ringseis also directed the Niedermair cabaret.

Andreas Fuderer has been running the Niedermair since 2004. He is also one of the three managing directors of the " Stadtsaal " founded in 2011 . In doing so, he created a second mainstay for the theater with only 100 seats with the large hall in Mariahilfer Strasse, which offers up to 400 seats.
