Harald Baumgartner

Harald Baumgartner (born August 17, 1961 in Linz ) is an Austrian politician ( SPÖ ) and community employee. From 2014 to 2015 he was a member of the Upper Austrian State Parliament .

Life

After his birth in Linz, Baumgartner attended the Reichenthal elementary school between 1967 and 1971. He then continued his education between 1971 and 1975 at the Reichenthal secondary school. Between 1976 and 1980 he learned the profession of cook and waiter, but suffered fractures of the 12th thoracic and 1st lumbar vertebrae in a serious car accident in Bad Leonfelden , resulting in complete paraplegia. As a result, he completed an apprenticeship as an office clerk and accountant at the BBRZ in Linz from 1982 to 1983. Since November 1983 he has been working as a community employee in the Reichenthal community. In addition to his job, Baumgartner is socially committed and has repeatedly taken on the role of trustee. In 1990 he also joined the Social Democratic Party of Upper Austria and in 1997 took over the office of parliamentary group spokesman in the Reichenthal municipal council.

From January 23, 2014, Harald Baumgartner was a member of the Upper Austrian state parliament. With Gertraud Jahn's move to the Upper Austrian provincial government, Baumgartner moved to the Upper Austrian state parliament, where he was sworn in as a member of parliament on January 23, 2014. He was a member of the Control Committee, the Committee on Petitions and Rectification, and the Environment Committee and was the area spokesman for the disabled and the environment within the SPÖ state parliament club.

For the state elections in Upper Austria in 2015 , Baumgartner was ranked only fourth by the SPÖ district organization Urfahr-Umgebung . His re-entry after the state elections was therefore uncertain.

Baumgartner is married and has two daughters (* 1990 and 1995 respectively).
