Absolutely brilliant was an Austrian comedy quiz show, which was designated as the official offshoot of Genial besides - The Comedy Arena . The format ran on the private broadcaster ATV in 2005 on Wednesdays at 8:15 p.m. and Saturdays at 6:45 p.m. as a repetition of the broadcast on Wednesday.

The program was discontinued in the same year due to falling audience rates.

concept

In the Austrian edition of the successful format Genial Beside it , host Oliver Huether asked a guessing team, which consisted of the regular guests Dieter Chmelar and Roman Gregory as well as three other guests, audience questions, which were answered in an entertaining way. The extended core team, consisting of Michael Mohapp , Nadja Maleh , Helfried and Valerie Bolzano , appeared again and again in the guessing round.

The principle of the broadcast was that a group of cabaret artists should answer questions sent in by viewers. The program was hosted by Oliver Huether, who also asked the questions. The questions asked came from the field of general education and were mostly very curious. Terms that evoke sexual associations were particularly popular. The idea corresponded roughly to the parlor game Lexicon game .

If the guessing group did not manage to answer the question correctly within a period of time determined by the moderator, the moderator resolved the question and the sender received 500 euros.
