Michael Mohapp

Michael A. Mohapp (March 4, 1958 - March 7, 2015 ) was an Austrian actor and cabaret artist.

Life

After a visit to the Jesuit College in Kalksburg , Michael Mohapp received acting lessons from Herwig Seeböck , Lee Strasberg , Gerti Tenger-Wachsmuth and Oskar Willner from 1976 to 1983 . From 1978 to 1983 he also got to know directing with Kurt Sobotka , Axel Corti , Harald Kopp, Peter Dörre, Oscar Willner, Claus-Dieter Wielke and Werner Wöss, among others .

From 1979 to 1981 he gained his first cabaret experience in Gerhard Bronners Cabaret Fledermaus , from 1982 he was on the road with his own programs and solo performances. From 1987 to 1990 and from 1993 to 1998 he was on the stage of the Viennese cabaret Simpl , from 1991 to 1993 he could be seen in the cabaret program Graumann's Night Mehr .

As a director, he was responsible for more than 70 productions from 1980. From 1983 to 1994 he was director of the Graumann Theater in Vienna, from 2004 to 2011 he was director of the Altenburg Abbey Summer Games . Mohapp was also active as a spokesman for advertising, film and television as well as audio books, among other things he lent his voice to the Kasperl . In 2005 he was on the advice team for the comedy quiz show Absolutely Genial on ATV .

From 1988 to 1994 he was director of the GAMES theater school (Graumann Acting Musical Entertainment Studio). From 2005 he had a teaching position for repertoire and role design as well as basic music dramatic training at the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna at the Institute for Singing and Music Theater. His acting students included Michael Niavarani , Viktor Gernot , Sigrid Hauser , Nadja Maleh , Rupert Henning , Helmuth Vavra , Christoph Wagner-Trenkwitz , Reinhold G. Moritz , Nicolaus Hagg , Arthur Klemt , Valerie Bolzano , Laura Schneiderhan , Leopold Selinger and Markus Siebert.

He died on March 7, 2015 at the age of 57.
