Vienna Cabaret Festival (2015, stage setting)

The Vienna Cabaret Festival has taken place every summer since 2011 in the arcade courtyard of the Vienna City Hall in front of an audience of 1,300 people, making it one of the largest cabaret performances in Austria .

history

Michaela Lefor and Thomas Oberbauer founded the Vienna Cabaret Festival in 2011 with the idea of organizing open-air cabaret in the arcade courtyard of the Vienna City Hall during the summer months when most cabaret artists generally do not play . The support of the Mayor of Vienna Michael Häupl was also decisive . It started with three days of play with two cabaret artists each. In 2012, it was expanded to five days (one day of which was exclusively a cabaret talent day). The Vienna Cabaret Festival has been taking place for six days since 2013 (Monday to Saturday). From 2015 onwards, there were also separate acts for cabaret talents, so that since then there have been three performances per day.
