Marc-Uwe Kling
Marc-Uwe Kling (* 1982 in Stuttgart ) is a German singer-songwriter , comedian , cabaret artists and author .
Life
Marc-Uwe Kling is the youngest of four children of two forwarding agents. His father is a hobby musician, Kling learned the piano and guitar as a child. At 20 he moved to Berlin. There he studied philosophy and theater studies at the Free University of Berlin . Since 2003 he has appeared on Berlin stages. He is also a guest at reading stages and poetry slams in Germany. In 2005 he founded the Lesedüne reading stage together with Kolja Reichert, Maik Martschinkowsky and Sebastian Lehmann . From 2005 to 2008, Kling was on tour with the solo program If all else fails, you can no longer even hang up , now his current program is based on his Kangaroo trilogy . In 2006 and 2007 he won the individual competition at the German-speaking Poetry Slam Championships .

Books
The kangaroo trilogy
Kling is the author of the podcast News from the Kangaroo , which was heard weekly on the Fritz radio station . In 2010 he and the producer team were awarded the German Radio Prize for this. The texts were published in print and as audio books in the volumes Die Kangaroo Chronicles , The Kangaroo Manifesto and The Kangaroo Revelation . His first studio album Marc-Uwe Kling & Die Gesellschaft was released on January 15, 2011 . The Kangaroo Revelation was published in March 2014. Kling read a chapter from it in the asylum on November 18, 2014. New stories are regularly presented at the Lesedüne reading stage . A fourth part entitled The Kangaroo Apocrypha , which is not intended to begin another trilogy, but only to provide an encore, was released on October 12, 2018. On March 1, 2018 the Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg announced that it would be funding a film adaptation of the first book by Dani Levy with € 800,000. The film premiered on March 5, 2020.
QualityLand
In 2017, Kling's “funny dystopia” QualityLand appeared , with which he went on tour. In March 2019 it became known that the private TV broadcaster HBO was planning a series adaptation of the novel by Mike Judge .
Concert series and music albums
In 2015, Kling started a concert tour with the cabaret artists Michael Krebs and Julius Fischer as the working group Future called Viel Schöne hier . The events were spread all over Germany and almost always sold out. The songs deal with socially critical topics, such as fast pace, society or self-exploitation in professional life .: In addition to the tours, two albums were also produced with Viel Schöne hier (2016) and Das next Großes Ding (2019).
