Jugend Kulturell is a cultural promotion program for artists from the fields of music and performing arts that has been carried out in Germany since 1981 .

Youth cultural event series

The series of events of the same name, launched by Hypovereinsbank, gives artists who want to turn their passion into a profession, among others. a. the opportunity to present their skills to a broader public. Since the start of the funding series, around 9,500 artists have appeared at over 2,200 events with around 360,000 visitors (as of March 2017).

In 2003, Hypovereinsbank was awarded the KulturMerkur by the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce and the Hamburg Cultural Foundation for its commitment to culture with youth . With its commitment to culture, HypoVereinsbank is a member of the culture group of German business in the Bundesverband der Deutschen Industrie e. V.

Youth cultural advancement award

In addition to the series of events, from 1994 up to and including 2016 the youth culture award was awarded to promote “particularly talented newcomers”, who presented themselves to an independent jury of experts and to the public. The competition for the sponsorship award took place annually in one of the four sponsorship categories a cappella , musical , cabaret & Co. and pop music and was endowed with a total of 20,000 euros. In addition to cash prizes, non-cash and special prizes were awarded (e.g. CD productions, workshops and coaching).

Most recently, the Youth Culture Prize was awarded in 2016 in the "Acoustic Pop" category. The winners of the final were Alice Merton (1st jury award ), Listen to Leena (2nd jury award) and ANTIHELD (audience award).

Previous participants and winners of the competition were, among others, the cabaret artists Bodo Wartke , Sebastian Krämer , Matthias Brodowy , Marc-Uwe Kling , Simon & Jan , Tilman Birr , Ass-Dur , Zärtierungen mit Freunde , Martin Zingsheim , Till Reiners and the musicians Alice Merton , Tommy Finke , Johanna Zeul and the bands MBWTEYP , Phrasenmöpf (band) and Luxuslärm . Other award winners were the musical actresses Elisabeth Hübert , Katja Berg , Jacqueline Zebisch alias Ella Endlich and Roberta Valentini as well as the a cappella ensembles LaLeLu , Calmus Ensemble , Viva Voce , Klang district , Maybebop , Vocaldente , JuiceBox. , Sjaella , Dezibelles and HörBänd.
