Matthias Brodowy (* 1972 in Braunschweig ) is a German cabaret artist , singer and pianist .

Life

Brodowy grew up in Wolfsburg and later in Hanover . There he attended the Herschel School. He is a trained church musician and studied history and Catholic theology .

From 1989 to 1999 he was a member of the cabaret group Profilachticker . His first solo program, Schweigen Sie ein, I drive word, started in the autumn of 1997 - cabaret crusades and transverse moves . In 1999 he started his first tour of Germany. In 2004 he founded the general music publisher together with the Hanoverian entrepreneur Sebastian Gerhard . Brodowy u. a. active in the Hamburg Hansatheater, in Roncallis Apollo Varieté and in the GOP Varieté Theater Hannover . He also appears regularly in the Quatsch Comedy Club .

In 2009 Matthias Brodowy was a founding member of Lesestart Hannover . In 2009 Matthias Brodowy took over the patronage of the outpatient hospice and palliative counseling service of the Maltese in Hanover. Brodowy has been moderating the WDR cabaret festival from Paderborn since 2010 . Since 2012, as the successor to Bodo Wartke , he has moderated the songs on a summer evening in front of the Banz Monastery, from which Bayerischer Rundfunk shows a cut on television. In 2014 he opened the festival with a sung speech. His song Mensch, ärger 'dich is not featured on the 2016 anniversary CD .

Matthias Brodowy received the German Cabaret Prize 2013 in the category chanson / song / music. He is honored together with Carsten Hormes (bass) and Wolfgang Stute (guitar / cajon) for his musical-literary program In accompaniment .

He has been working with Roofmusic in Bochum since 2013. In August 2013 his first double CD was released there with the title “Until you like it”. In September 2013 Brodowy took over the patronage of the association “Self-help children and young people with kidney disease”. At the moment (2019) he is on tour through Germany with his eighth solo program Kopfsalat-Chaos Cabaret , his best of “Until You Like It”, the puppet cabaret Bert Engel Show (together with Detlef Wutschik ) and the music program In Accompaniment .
