Reinheimer satirical lion

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Reinheimer Satirelöwe is a prize in the cabaret category . It has been awarded annually by the city of Reinheim since 1994 . The applicants face the audience at the Hofgut Reinheim cultural center during the Reinheim Satire Week .

In contrast to many cabaret awards, with this satirical award the organizers particularly want to promote a "substantive discussion of critical social phenomena". The winners do not win a monetary prize, but a silver pin and at least three appearances on renowned stages in the southern Hesse region. The ensemble cabaret is to be given special support as “an art form threatened with extinction”. Every year four soloists and four groups are nominated and two prizes (soloist and group) are awarded. Since 2009 there has also been an audience award.

There has been a competition for women and men since 2017.
