Michael Sens (2007)

Michael Sens (born May 2, 1963 in Berlin ) is a German cabaret artist , author , violinist , pianist , composer and singer .

Life

At the age of six he began studying the violin and piano. He showed enormous talent on both instruments. In 1979 he was enrolled at the "Hanns Eisler" University of Music in Berlin, specializing in classical violin and piano, where he expanded his artistic talent. Immediately after his state examination he won his first orchestral engagement. A year later he got the position as musical director and composer in residence at the "Uckermärkische Bühnen Schwedt".

In 1986 his artistic talent led him into the world of pantomime at the Deutsche Theater Berlin, where he was part of the local pantomime ensemble until 1991. In the same year, his life path led him back to the Hanns Eisler University of Music, where he began to study singing. In the first semester he won first prize in the national song competition in the field of chanson / song.

His interest in texts prompted him to train as a writer at the Ars Dramatica, which shaped his literary personality. With this reorientation, his work as a writer for numerous plays at various German theaters began. The SüdWestverlag commissioned him in 2011 to write a book that was published in the same year under the title "The Casanova Principle".

Michael Sens has been a senior consultant at the consulting firm m2m-consulting in Karlsruhe since 2014, specializing in rhetoric, humor and body language.

composer

From 1984 to 1994 Michael Sens wrote some stage music for theater productions, among others in Jena, Schwedt, Dresden, Cottbus and Berlin. In December 2008, an orchestral work by the composer was performed for the first time. The Leipzig Youth Symphony Orchestra performed the ballet suite Der Zeitmacher in the Gewandhaus in Leipzig under the direction of the conductor Ron-Dirk Entleutner . On August 30, 2017, on the occasion of the Carl Orff Music Festival, the world premiere of his first string quartet "Querillium" took place in Putignano (Italy).
