Ruth Schiffer

Ruth Schiffer (* 1962 in Cologne ) is a German cabaret artist , author and singer .

Life

Schiffer completed an acting training in Hamburg . From 1987 to 1992 she was then engaged at the Thalia Theater in Hamburg. She had other theater engagements at the Pforzheim Theater as well as in Bern and Osnabrück . From 1992 to 1995 she was part of the ensemble of the Düsseldorfer Kom (m) ödchens .

Since 1995 she has been writing her own cabaret programs. From 1995 to 2007 she was active in cabaret as a duo Schiffer / Beckmann together with Barbara Beckmann, whom she had met during her time at Kom (m) ödchen. During this time she was also the presenter of the television program Nachtschlag on WDR television. She was the presenter of the radio show Cabaret of the hour zero as part of the WDR radio revue; in this program she also interpreted historical cabaret programs. She also moderated the radio show Spielart of the WDR 5.

In 2007 Schiffer wrote texts for the first time for the Stunksitzung , the alternative, cabaret session of the Cologne Carnival . In 2007 she had her first musical program, Last Ölung, together with Dirk Raulf .

In 2008 she performed solo for the first time as a cabaret artist with the program Besides me . For the European Football Championship in 2008 , she developed and presented her Ballzauber program . In 2009 she made her debut as a member of the musical trio DIEundDie. In 2010 her second program followed as a solo cabaret artist, the half hour / 60 euros. 4000 years of customer service meant a “not always completely youthful, but refreshingly open [er], ironic [er]” foray into female prostitution from ancient times to the present. In 2010 she appeared on the WDR television program Ladies Night with excerpts from her program Half Hour / 60 Euro .

Since November 2012 she has been on tour with her third program as a solo artist, entitled Blue Wonder .

Schiffer temporarily lives on a vineyard in Alf (Mosel) .
