Werner Brix (born December 7, 1964 in Vienna ) is an Austrian cabaret artist and actor .

Life

Brix grew up in Klosterneuburg . He graduated from the higher technical college for communications engineering in Vienna. He then worked in industry for six years. At the same time he was involved in amateur theater. Brix took acting lessons from Monika Pagnieux (Le Coq), Erika Mottl, Herwig Seeböck and Giora Seeliger. Since 1987 he has been working as a freelance actor and director. From 1991 to 1993 he took over the management of the cabaret and cabaret stage "Spektakel".

In 1995 he performed as a cabaret artist with his first solo program in the Niedermair cabaret in Vienna, followed by nine other solo programs by 2016. 2005–2008 he also appeared with Gregor Seberg as “falt” (“fucking austrian reading theater”), with whom he has staged two programs so far. Brix received several awards for his cabaret work.

In addition to his cabaret career, Brix appears as a theater actor, works in films and several television productions. Behind the camera he works as a director and screenwriter and develops moving image concepts for companies, entertainment formats and film material with “Brix Productions”. He also holds acting workshops in Austria and Germany and coaches people from business and politics. He teaches courses and master’s courses at the University of Kassel at regular intervals.

Since 2008 he has been the initiator and organizer of the annual charity evening for the benefit of the development aid club and chairman of the Otto Tausig fund “Development Aid for Artists” together with Lilly Tausig, Paul Gulda and Erwin Steinhauer .

In 2011 he was a co-founder of the Facebook group Amici delle SVA , which campaigns for micro-enterprises and founded a legal entity in the ARGE1 association in 2017.
