Simon Schwarz (born January 10, 1971 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actor .

Life

Schwarz was born in Vienna in 1971 as the son of a theater scholar and a Germanist . In addition to training in dance at the Tanzforum Wien and at the dance theater in Zurich, as well as classical ballet training , he took acting lessons at the Anne Woolliams School in Zurich and attended the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts in Berlin .

This was followed by theater engagements at the Stadttheater Klagenfurt , the Stadttheater Luzern and the jolie théâtre in Basel ( Der nackte Wahnsinn by Michael Frayn ). In 2013 and 2014, Simon Schwarz played the devil in the Jedermann production at the Salzburg Festival .

In 1996 he made his television debut in the television series Game of Life . Several national film and television productions followed before Schwarz achieved greater fame in 1998 with the film Die Siebtelbauern . For this film he won the Max Ophüls Prize for best young actor. Since 2013 he has played a leading role in the film adaptations of the Franz Eberhofer crime thriller by Rita Falk .

In the feature film Zerschlag mein Herz (2018) by director and screenwriter Alexandra Makarová , with whom he has been in a relationship since 2012, he acted for the first time as a producer .
