action

The entrepreneurs Niklas and Carolin Siegl are happily married to each other and enjoy their middle-class life in Vienna. Niklas has a supposedly well-running jewelry store and Carolin is the owner of an exquisite fashion boutique. The entrepreneur has no inkling of his wife's past. When Carolin's ex-boyfriend Timo is released from prison, he goes to the young woman immediately. Both were once thieves who broke into villas in Hamburg and stole the most expensive jewelry.

Timo nests with the Siegls, poses as Carolin's cousin and blackmailed her. Either they pay or their past is exposed. Niklas soon becomes suspicious and hires a private detective, through which he learns about his wife's past life. Since he himself is in financial difficulties, he comes up with the idea to let Timo rob his jewelry store in order to get rid of his debts with the existing insurance.

criticism

"Enjoyable, solidly played and staged (TV) crime comedy about the criminal abysses behind the bourgeois, honest facade."

“Director Lars Becker is actually a specialist in exciting crime and thriller entertainment [...] In 'Never trust your wife', based on the screenplay by Detlef Michel [...] he combines comedy and crime elements into a charming one like enjoyable fun with a celebrity cast. Especially Harald Krassnitzer as a philistine who tries to pull everyone over the table is delicious. "

“Robbery, kidnapping, extortion, insurance fraud - this brings together some serious crimes. But do not worry, so shortly before Christmas the ZDF is of course not presenting a bloodthirsty crime thriller, but rather a nice, winking crook's tale with a rather soft tone. Including relationship problems, of course. Based on the script by Detlef Michel, director Lars Becker creates a twisted, but nevertheless easily comprehensible story that has a surprise in store even after its supposed end. Worth seeing!"
