Detlef Michel (born May 26, 1944 in Turckheim ) is a German writer .

Life

Michel spent his childhood in Berlin and his youth in Braunschweig . From 1964 he studied German , sociology and psychology in Tübingen , Munich and Berlin. During his studies he was a member of the SDS , took as part of the Critical University in the preparation of Springer Tribunal part and belonged initially to the community I . In 1973 he received his doctorate. phil. From 1973 to 1976 he was a lecturer at the University of Applied Sciences for Business and at the University of Applied Sciences for Social Work and Social Pedagogy in Berlin. From 1976 to 1979 he worked at the University of Osnabrück , first as a research assistant , then as an academic adviser . From 1976 to 1982 he was co-editor and editor of Berliner Hefte. Magazine for culture and politics . From 2001 to 2002 he taught as visiting professor for screenwriting at the German Literature Institute in Leipzig . He was married to the editor Kornelia Koronetz (born November 30, 1957, † June 11, 2011).

1966–1970 Michel wrote texts for the Reich Cabaret , 1975–1989 plays for the GRIPS Theater .

He has been a member of the PEN Center Germany since 1997 and of the German Film Academy since 2003 . He lives as a freelance writer in Berlin and is married to the social worker and sculptor Adriana Rupp (born May 3, 1958).
