Eugene Damm

Eugen Damm (born May 9, 1936 in Kaiserslautern ; † November 8, 2017 there ) was a German actor and Palatinate dialect poet .

Life

Eugen Damm was born in Kaiserslautern in 1936 and grew up in the "round building" between König- and Albert-Schweitzer-Straße. Originally working as a customs officer and bailiff, he became active in the Fasenacht in the 50s and developed further into a dialect poet, book, stage and television author, radio editor, song composer, glossy writer and folk actor. Damm was the founder and, until its dissolution in 2004, head of the Lautrer Altstadttheater in Kaiserslautern. He was a freelancer for Saarland broadcasting , Südwestrundfunk and Radio RPR , and also represented at Antenne Kaiserslautern 96.9 with the dialect program “Hannewackel and Jackobine”.

Numerous books have been published by Damm and he was the author of six plays.

Damm was married and had three grown children.
