28 Years of Songs on a Summer Evening is a live album of Songs on a Summer Evening from 2014. A second CD contains excerpts from the events of 2012 and 2013

Emergence

Three years after the songs, which were also released on CD, on a summer evening in 2011 , the 2014 concert was released again on CD. First of all, the highlights from the concerts in 2012 and 2013 close the gap on CD number 1. An earlier publication of these concerts on CD had failed, according to Klaus Koch from BuschFunk Musikverlag, due to a lack of rights.

After discussions about the direction of the festival in previous years, the decision was made to stick to proven musicians in 2014, for example Reinhard Mey was there for the 14th time. He remembered deceased colleagues and sang Ludwig Hirsch's Schutzengerl .

The concerts were recorded from 2012 to 2014 at Kloster Banz. The concept and idea lay with Ado Schlier , the festival production was carried out by the Monika-Beate Fröschle GmbH event studio, Würzburg. They were recorded and mixed by Friedrich Thein (Studios & Mobile Recording). The stereo recording was edited and mastered by Manne Pokrandt, Berlin.

The CD editing was done by Klaus Koch, the booklet by Ado Schlier. The design was done by Klaus Schinagl. The photos are from Matthias Hoch, Barbara Herbst, Rene Matschkowiak, Katrin Arnold and the Hanns Seidel Foundation .
