Gerhard Schöne (born January 10, 1952 in Coswig near Dresden ) is a German songwriter . He was one of the most famous interpreters in the GDR .

Life

Schöne grew up in a Protestant pastor's family in Coswig, Saxony, and his father Johannes Schöne was also a writer. He completed an apprenticeship as a body belt worker and later worked at Deutsche Post . He originally wanted to be an actor, but no approval was given for the study because he in the NVA to refusing armed service and instead as a construction soldier served. As an employee for children and youth work with a pastor, he wrote songs and completed a distance learning course at the Dresden Music Academy . He has been a freelance songwriter since 1979.

1981 appeared his first LP savings not your wine on for tomorrow at Amiga , the most famous label of the GDR. Gerhard Schöne was a guest at the Festival of Political Songs several times . Music from him was in the DEFA - children's films The boy with the big black dog (1986) and ... and I thought you liked me used (1987); In the former, Schöne also played a supporting role as a musician. His LP You just haven't tried it came out in 1988, which courageously expressed the mood of large parts of the population with songs like Mit dem Face zum Volke .

In 1991 Schöne performed at the songs on a summer evening and received a special award from the festival sponsors for “Songs that build bridges”. His song The Desire of the Film Projector came on the anniversary CD in 2011 . He performed there a second time in 2014 .

Schöne was one of the artists who actively helped to shape the fall of 1989/90. To this day he is socially committed. Gerhard Schöne, for example, supports development projects of the East German organization INKOTA-netzwerk , on whose advisory board he works.

Beautiful texts sometimes seem childishly naive, but are always sensitive and, shaped by his Christian faith, often socially critical. Schöne has become popular primarily through his collection of children's songs from all over the world and from his own pen, for example Kinderland and Jule never washes . He was also successful with songs for adults. He appears regularly at Evangelical Church Days .

Gerhard Schöne's albums have been published by Buschfunk-Verlag Berlin since the fall of the Wall . Since 1988, nine of his children's books have been published.

Schöne is married for a second time and has six children. He lives in Meissen .
