Weber-Beckmann were a duo ( vocals and piano ) from Essen .

Weber-Beckmann were assigned to music cabaret , whereby they have become unmistakable through their self-written songs, which mostly revolve around love and its ups and downs, and through their very own humor, which occasionally slips into the black. Typical of their stage programs were the sharp dialogues between “der Weber” and “dem Beckmann” between the individual songs.

history

Before founding the Weber-Beckmann duo, Christiane Weber appeared in soul and funk bands , but then concentrated on jazz and was, for example, in the formation To Be Two with Eddie Nünning. She was a trained theater, film and television scientist. Timm Beckmann studied piano.

Christiane Weber and Timm Beckmann got to know each other in 1997 and performed in 1998 with their first joint program, jubilantly to death in love , which still contained many cover versions from the areas of jazz and chanson .

From 2002 the duo received numerous prizes and awards in the field of cabaret . The greatest success was the awarding of the German Cabaret Prize 2007, which was combined with a television appearance.

On May 15 and 16, 2008, the DVD of the current program Du mich was recorded in the Ebertbad in Oberhausen . In 2009, the two announced their split. On December 15, 2009, the final tour under the motto shortly before finally ended in the Lichtburg in Essen.

Christiane Weber continued to work as a solo artist until her death. On May 7th, 2010 she started her first own program The Honolulu Principle in Oberhausen.

Timm Beckmann forms a new cabaret duo with the artist Tobias Janssen, under the name ['pro: c-dur] . Your program started on April 16, 2010, also in Oberhausen.
