Volker Strübing (born April 22, 1971 in Sondershausen ) is a German writer , songwriter and animator .

Life

Volker Strübing was born in Thuringia in 1971 and grew up in Saxony-Anhalt and the Berlin district of Marzahn . He is a trained specialist in data processing and has lived in Berlin since 1978. His artistic career began with programming music for C64 games. In 1990 he developed the computer game Atomino with Tube (Tobias Herre) and Uwe Beneke for the Blue Byte company . On July 4, 1996, Strübing founded the Berlin reading stage LSD - love instead of drugs - together with Tube , Spider ( Andreas Krenzke ), Uwe Beneke, Sabine Mylius, Andre Lange, Klaus Schwarz and Gunar Klemm . From 2000 to 2008 he was a member of the Berliner Lesebühne Chaussee der Enthusiasten . On September 9, 2000 he founded the Berliner Lesebühne Kantinenlesen together with Dan Richter .

Since 2004 he has appeared regularly at poetry slams himself or as a team LSD (together with Michael Ebeling) . The focus of his work are short, satirical texts that are primarily written for reading aloud.

Since May 2007, Volker Strübing has been designing the animated film series Kloß & Spinne , in which he also speaks all the roles himself. So far he has published 24 episodes and 5 “quickies” on his blog “Schnipselfriedhof”.

As a director and author, he shot the four-part travel report Not the South on behalf of ZDF . Together with Kirsten Fuchs , Strübing wrote a book of the same name while traveling to the Faroe Islands, Denmark, Iceland, Jan Mayen and Spitzbergen, which was published by Voland & Quist .

Since June 2009, Volker Strübing has been working again as a writer and director on a three-part travel report Mister & Missis.Sippi for 3sat , which was produced by ZDF on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of Mark Twain's death ; Until August 2009 he rode the Mississippi from St. Louis to New Orleans on a raft together with the ZDF presenter Patricia Schäfer .
