Patricia Schäfer

Patricia Schäfer (born January 14, 1968 in Würzburg ) is a German journalist and presenter.

biography

Patricia Schäfer came to journalism through an internship at a private radio station in Würzburg, where she completed an internship from 1987 to 1989 after graduating from high school in 1987 . From 1989 to 1997 she studied American studies , political science and modern history at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg and the Freie Universität Berlin . She spent the 1991/92 academic year at the University of Massachusetts Amherst . This was followed by a semester abroad in Rome in 1994. Her studies enabled her to work on the side at radio, in 1993 at Inforadio in Berlin and until 1995 at Berliner Rundfunk . Here she was able to gain initial experience in moderation and at the same time finance her studies.

She entered the television business through a moderation casting at Deutsche Welle (DW) in 1996. There she presented the weather and the daily magazine programs Boulevard Deutschland and Boulevard Germany . After half a year as a talk show host of the daily discussion program Berliner Ring at Sender Freies Berlin (SFB), within which she was discovered by Maybrit Illner (at that time still head of Morgenmagazin ), she finally switched to ZDF-Morgenmagazin as their successor.

From October 1998 to September 2010 she moderated the so-called “Spätschiene” (7–9 o'clock) of the respective issue of the ZDF morning magazine , alongside Cherno Jobatey , Wulf Schmiese and Norms Odenthal .

From the beginning of July 2009 to the beginning of August 2009 she went on a raft trip from St. Louis to New Orleans as "Missis.Sippi" together with Volker Strübing . The three-part documentary was first broadcast on 3sat in April 2010 and on ZDF in June 2010.

On September 24, 2010 Patricia Schäfer presented the morning magazine for the last time on ZDF and from November 1, 2010 worked as a correspondent in the ZDF studio in London . Since February 1, 2016 she has been a correspondent at the ZDF regional studio Bavaria in Munich .
