Dehlingen is located in the north of the Crooked Alsace , at the transition to the Bitscher Land .
The neighboring communities are Butten in the east, Lorentzen in the south, Vœllerdingen in the south-west, Oermingen and Kalhausen in the north-west, Schmittviller in the north and Rahlingen in the north-east. Dehlingen thus borders the Moselle department in the north and northeast .
history
Dehlingen was first mentioned in 737 in a deed of donation in favor of Weißenburg Abbey .
From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Dehlingen belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the Zabern district in the Lower Alsace district .
