Truchtersheim is a French commune in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ). On July 15, 1974, Truchtersheim merged with the community of Behlenheim. On January 1, 2015, the municipality moved from the Arrondissement Strasbourg-Campagne to the Arrondissement Saverne .
On January 1, 2016, the former municipality of Pfettisheim was incorporated.
geography
The community is located in the Kochersberg , northwest of the Strasbourg agglomeration, and is bordered to the west by the Ruisseau d ' Avenheim stream. The neighboring communities are Berstett in the north, Lampertheim in the east, Pfulgriesheim in the southeast, Stutzheim-Offenheim in the south, Wiwersheim in the southwest and Schnersheim in the west.

The name Truchtersheim is of Celtic origin and means small residence . The name was later expanded to include home . Truchtersheim was first mentioned in 900. The old town is in the center of the city.
