Pfettisheim is a commune déléguée in the French commune Truchtersheim with 794 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ).
geography
Pfettisheim is located in northeast France in the Kochersberg , eleven kilometers northwest of Strasbourg . Neighboring places of Pfettisheim are Truchtersheim in the west, Berstett in the north, Pfulgriesheim in the southeast and Wiwersheim in the southwest. The municipality covers 484 hectares, the mean height is 167 meters above sea level , the Mairie stands at an altitude of 164 meters.

history
Pfettisheim was mentioned for the first time in 739, in a document concerning the properties of the Weißenburg monastery . In the 12th century the place appears as Phetenesheim and as Pfetzenheim in a document from 1529. In Alsatian , pfetze means "pliers", which is why the coat of arms shows pliers.
The municipality Pfettisheim was a member of the community association Kochersberg and was incorporated on 1 January 2016 after Truchtersheim.

Attractions
The Chapelle de la Sainte-Trinité ( Chapel of the Trinity ) dates from the 3rd quarter of the 17th century. A carved stone inside bears the year 1669 and the coat of arms of the bishop . The cemetery is more recent, the pillars at the entrance are dated 1876. The chapel is a small square building with a semicircular apse . The two church windows were made by Tristan Ruhlmann and show the coat of arms of the bishop and the coat of arms of Pfettisheim.
Of the original Saint-Symphorien church, built in the 12th century and dedicated to Saint Symphorianus , only the bell tower remains. The nave , which was built in the 18th century, now forms the choir . The current nave was built in the 19th century. The sacristy was added in the first half of the 20th century.
