Berstett is a French commune with 2,437 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ). It belongs to the Communauté de communes du Kochersberg (CoCoKo). On January 1, 2015, Berstett moved from the Arrondissement Strasbourg-Campagne to the Arrondissement Saverne .
geography
Berstett is located in the Kochersberg , a natural landscape in Lower Alsace, about 15 km northwest of Strasbourg and is surrounded by the communities of Pfettisheim , Olwisheim and Eckwersheim . The district Rumersheim is the secondary road D30 and Reitwiller affected by the D30 and the D31. The village of Berstett is only connected to the transport network by side roads.
history
Today's community was created in 1972 through the merger of the former communities of Berstett , Gimbrett , Reitwiller and Rumersheim . The history of the individual villages goes back to the Middle Ages.

Attractions
- Berstett Castle existed from 1742 to 1789 . It was canceled. The client was Philipp von Berstett .
- Another castle, built by the Lords of Berstett , was first mentioned in 1120 and was probably destroyed in 1638.
