Kirrberg (German Kirberg ) is a French commune with 157 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2017) in the Bas-Rhin department in the Grand Est region (until 2015 Alsace ). It belongs to the Arrondissement of Saverne . Kirrberg is located in the " Crooked Alsace " landscape .

history

His first mention was the place 712 as Villa Teurino before 1501 it with Kirpberg received a forerunner of today's name for the first time. During the Thirty Years War , the place was almost completely destroyed by fire in 1625.

From 1871 until the end of the First World War , Kirrberg belonged to the German Empire as part of the realm of Alsace-Lorraine and was assigned to the district of Zabern in the district of Lower Alsace .
